On Friday, BioWare Mythic held the first of two events on the Public Test Server for Warhammer Online's 1.3.6 patch. The goal of this one was to get a lot of players together and gauge the performance. As advertised, there was a twist to this test, which could have a big affect on WAR. Find out more, and watch a video, after the break.
I have been on an audio commentary kick lately, so if you don't want to hear me ramble on about the video do turn down the sound :)
If you didn't watch the whole thing you may not have heard what the twist was. I'll tell you anyway... friendly collision detection was disabled. During the feedback session, players were asked about performance and many reported that it was smoother and better overall. It seems disabling friendly collision (not enemy) can result in a 20% improvement. That is all I will say about this for now, but expect a full post on it soon.
The customary Q&A session was held earlier in the day to help accommodate the EU players. For a full transcript, visit Gaarawarr.
The second PTS event will be held on Friday night at 8pm EDT. There will be a Q&A session after the test.
