This week I spent a good amount of time working on some basic movement mechanics. Since exploration is one of the games core features, there needed to be a fuel system. If you are going to set out into the unknown, you should have to do some pre-planning. Continue on for a video, with commentary, about the new fuel system.
I am a fan of vector graphics, so I'm really happy that I could work them into the game as overlay's. They are simple but effective.
What happens when you run out of gas? Part of me wants it to be game over. I'll probably put some kind of lifeline in, but it will be costly. As for refueling, I may make some ship components that allow you to generate fuel. Also, I plan to have extra fuel tanks as a purchasable ship component.
