I mentioned Monday that I was going to try to work in a few more games into my rotation. Team Fortress 2 is one of those games. My first impressions were quite good. I was not expecting such a polished and smooth experience. However, there are aspects of the game already wearing down my enjoyment.
Spies have really started to get to me, literally. It seems that many of the matches I play just end up with me being stabbed in the back repeatedly. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't find being 1 shot fun whether it is a MMO or a shooter. Add that in with the ability to look like a teammate and it's a recipe for dead Werit.
Sure, there are ways to defend against them. Although, I don't think shooting your teammates to check if they are a spy is a good gameplay element. There is also paying attention to names. That's all well and good, but trying to do that while fighting is not very fun for me.
Could this complaining be because I am new to the game and suck? Probably. My aim is atrocious, which is why I like to use the Bazooka (splash damage!). I'm not sure I will ever be good at shooters, those days have passed me by I'm afraid. I do enjoy the game for some quick fun though and I can certainly see why it is so popular.
